Medical Logistics

Mobilicare’s Medical Logistics service provides reliable, secure and time-sensitive transportation of healthcare-related items between hospitals, clinics, laboratories, pharmacies, care centres and authorised recipients.

The service may support the delivery of:

  • Medication and pharmacy supplies
  • Medical documents and patient records
  • Laboratory specimens
  • Medical equipment and mobility aids
  • Healthcare consumables and essential supplies

Each delivery is coordinated according to the item’s handling requirements. Where applicable, suitable packaging, temperature control, documented handovers and chain-of-custody procedures help protect the item’s condition, security and traceability.

Users and authorised organisations can arrange a delivery through the Mobilicare website or app, provide handling instructions and track its progress in real time. Status notifications, secure communication and proof of delivery offer greater visibility throughout the process.

Medical Logistics bookings are subject to item verification, service-area coverage and relevant safety requirements. Restricted, hazardous, infectious or temperature-sensitive items will only be accepted when Mobilicare has the appropriate capability and all applicable packaging, documentation and handling conditions have been met.

How to book

Medical Logistics deliveries can be arranged through the Mobilicare website or mobile app. During booking, users must select the service category that matches the item and required level of urgency.

Standard Non-Critical Delivery

Suitable for routine items that do not require urgent or specialised handling, such as regular medication, medical documents, mobility aids and general healthcare supplies.

Users provide the collection and delivery addresses, preferred date and time, item description, recipient details and any handling instructions. The system will then display an estimated quotation and available delivery providers.

Priority or Critical Item Delivery

Designed for time-sensitive medical items that may require priority collection, closer monitoring, documented handovers or controlled transport conditions.

Users must provide detailed information about the item, including its urgency, dimensions, packaging, required delivery time, temperature range and any special handling or chain-of-custody requirements. Mobilicare will review the request before confirming that a suitable provider and transport method are available.

Booking Process

Select the delivery type

Choose either Standard Non-Critical Delivery or Priority/Critical Item Delivery.

Enter the delivery details

Provide information about the item, collection point, destination, sender, authorised recipient and required delivery time.

Declare handling requirements

State whether the item requires temperature control, fragile handling, documented custody transfers or other special arrangements. Supporting documents may be requested.

Review the quotation

The system will provide an estimated price based on distance, urgency, service duration and handling requirements.

Select and confirm a provider

Review the available providers and confirm the preferred option. For critical items, confirmation is subject to Mobilicare’s capability and safety review.

Track the delivery

Once collection begins, authorised users can monitor the delivery through the app, communicate with the provider and receive status notifications.

Confirm receipt

The authorised recipient will acknowledge delivery through a signature, verification code or other approved proof-of-delivery method.

Review the final charges

After completion, users will receive a delivery summary detailing any additional approved charges, such as waiting time, tolls, parking or extended service duration.

Critical delivery does not replace an emergency medical response service. Mobilicare may refuse items that are prohibited, improperly packaged, insufficiently documented or beyond its authorised handling capabilities.

Terms & conditions

These terms apply to this service. Every service’s terms are also collected on the Terms & Conditions page.

Medical Logistics Terms and Conditions

These terms apply to all Standard Non-Critical and Priority/Critical Medical Logistics bookings made through Mobilicare. By confirming a booking, the user agrees to provide complete and accurate information and comply with all applicable safety, packaging and regulatory requirements.

Accepted Items

Mobilicare may accept medication, medical documents, approved clinical specimens, medical devices, mobility equipment and healthcare supplies that fall within its authorised handling capabilities.

Mobilicare reserves the right to inspect, reject or stop transporting any item that is prohibited, hazardous, leaking, damaged, incorrectly labelled, inadequately packaged, insufficiently documented or different from the booking declaration.

Clinical specimens, infectious substances, controlled medicines, dangerous goods and temperature-sensitive items will only be accepted where Mobilicare and the assigned provider have the necessary capability and authorisation.

User and Sender Responsibilities

The user or sender must:

  • Accurately declare the item’s contents, quantity, value and condition.
  • Disclose whether it is fragile, hazardous, infectious, controlled or temperature-sensitive.
  • Provide the correct collection and delivery details.
  • Supply complete handling, storage and time-limit instructions.
  • Use suitable, secure and compliant packaging.
  • Provide all required prescriptions, permits, labels and supporting documents.
  • Ensure that an authorised recipient is available to receive the item.

Unless packaging is expressly included in the booking, the sender remains responsible for determining and providing suitable packaging. Mobilicare may refuse an item that cannot be transported safely.

Collection and Chain of Custody

The item’s condition, seal, quantity and identifying details may be recorded at collection. Each transfer may require a signature, photograph, timestamp, verification code or electronic acknowledgement.

Users must not open, alter or replace sealed items after they have been accepted without creating a new collection record. Delivery will only be made to the named recipient or another person authorised through an approved verification process.

Temperature-Controlled Items

The user must declare the required temperature range before confirming the booking. Mobilicare will only accept the item after confirming that suitable equipment and monitoring are available.

Where monitoring is included, relevant temperature records may be provided. A temperature excursion does not automatically establish that an item remains suitable or has become unsuitable for use. The sender, manufacturer, pharmacist, laboratory or qualified healthcare professional must make that decision.

Tracking and Delivery

Tracking begins when the item is collected. Estimated collection and delivery times are not guaranteed unless expressly stated in the confirmed service order.

Delivery is completed when the authorised recipient accepts the item and proof of delivery is recorded. If the recipient is unavailable, Mobilicare will contact the user for instructions. Additional waiting, return or redelivery charges may apply.

Damaged, Leaking or Compromised Items

If an item is damaged, leaking, opened, contaminated or otherwise compromised during transportation, Mobilicare will:

  1. Stop handling or delivery where continued transportation may be unsafe.
  2. Secure and isolate the item where reasonably possible.
  3. Notify the user, sender and intended recipient promptly.
  4. Record the incident with relevant photographs, timestamps and handling information.
  5. Follow the sender’s authorised instructions to return, redirect, quarantine or dispose of the item.
  6. Report the incident to the appropriate authority where legally required.

A compromised medical item must not be used until its safety and suitability have been confirmed by an appropriately qualified person.

Where an investigation establishes that physical damage resulted directly from Mobilicare’s or its provider’s failure to follow the confirmed handling instructions, the claim will be assessed under the liability, claims and insurance provisions below.

Accidents and Emergencies During Delivery

If the assigned vehicle is involved in an accident or another emergency:

  • The provider will prioritise personal safety and contact emergency services where necessary.
  • The item will only be retrieved or moved when it is safe to do so.
  • Mobilicare will notify the user as soon as reasonably possible.
  • The item’s condition, packaging, seal and temperature record will be assessed where applicable.
  • Mobilicare may arrange an alternative vehicle or provider when safe and operationally possible.
  • The user will be informed of any expected delay or possible loss of item integrity.

Mobilicare will not continue delivering an item that may be unsafe or clinically compromised merely to meet the original delivery time.

Delays and Unsuccessful Deliveries

Delays may occur because of traffic, accidents, severe weather, road closures, facility access restrictions, regulatory inspections or other circumstances beyond reasonable control.

Mobilicare will provide updates and take reasonable steps to complete the delivery. If the expected delay may affect a time-sensitive or temperature-controlled item, the sender will be contacted for further instructions.

Mobilicare does not determine whether delayed medication, specimens or medical supplies remain clinically suitable for use.

Charges and Additional Costs

The estimated fee is charged at the beginning of the service. Additional charges may apply for waiting time, parking, tolls, redelivery, return transport, specialised equipment, extended duration, emergency handling or an authorised change of destination.

These charges will be itemised in the final service summary.

Insurance

Users may purchase optional delivery insurance, where available. Coverage, exclusions, excess, declared-value limits and claim requirements are governed by the insurer’s policy.

Items exceeding the standard liability limit must be declared before booking. Mobilicare may require additional insurance or decline the item. Failure to declare the correct value or nature of an item may invalidate or reduce a claim.

Liability

Subject to applicable law, Mobilicare’s liability for direct physical loss of or damage to an accepted item will be limited to the lower of:

  • The item’s documented replacement cost;
  • Its declared value;
  • The applicable insurance limit; or
  • Mobilicare’s stated standard liability limit.

Mobilicare will not be responsible for damage or loss caused by inadequate packaging, incorrect declarations, inherent defects, natural deterioration, expired items, manufacturer defects, incorrect handling instructions, recipient unavailability or circumstances beyond reasonable control.

Mobilicare does not accept responsibility for clinical decisions or indirect losses arising from delayed, damaged or unavailable medical items, except where liability cannot lawfully be excluded. Nothing in these terms excludes liability arising from fraud, wilful misconduct, gross negligence or any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

Reporting a Claim

Visible damage, leakage, tampering, missing items or temperature concerns should be reported immediately upon delivery. A formal claim should be submitted through the app or website as soon as possible, together with:

  • The booking reference;
  • Photographs of the item and packaging;
  • Proof of value or purchase;
  • Proof of delivery;
  • Relevant temperature or handling records; and
  • Any supporting report from a pharmacist, laboratory, manufacturer or healthcare provider.

The item and packaging must be retained until the investigation is completed unless disposal is required for safety or directed by an authorised party.

Cancellation

Cancellation charges depend on the delivery category, notice period, provider preparation and costs already incurred. Priority or critical bookings may become non-refundable once specialised equipment has been prepared or the provider has begun travelling.

If Mobilicare cancels because a suitable provider is unavailable, the user may reschedule, select an alternative service or receive a refund of eligible service charges.

Records and Confidentiality

Mobilicare may retain booking information, custody records, delivery evidence, communications and incident reports for operational, safety, claims and legal purposes.

Personal, medical and delivery information will only be shared with authorised parties or disclosed where required by law. Users must ensure that they have authority to provide the recipient’s information and any related medical details.

Regulatory Compliance

All bookings remain subject to applicable Malaysian laws, healthcare requirements and transport regulations. Where these terms conflict with a mandatory legal or regulatory requirement, that requirement will take precedence.

Mobilicare may introduce additional conditions for particular items, healthcare organisations, delivery routes or handling categories.
